about
People generally want to know what “havahula” means before they ask about what we do. And we’re happy to explain.
The name “havahula” originated in the late 20th century when Frank Hamilton decided to create a website to sell his custom-made “hula” hoops.
Really.
That didn’t work out very well so, now we are “convergent media” consultants. Simply understood, we begin each project with an inquiry into what makes it meaningful, then we choose which medium(s) [text|graphics|audio|video] to use where [print|broadcast|web].
It’s not too far from making custom “hula” hoops, actually. A hoop is simply a geometric shape. But with a little discovery and a few leaps of the imagination it can be transformed into an activity now commonly shared the world over.
And that’s what we’re about.
